For years I’ve been noticing different products’ packaging. Perfumes were always nicely packaged, because fragrance might be the most important criterion when buying a perfume, but let’s face, it’s the bottle that attracts us, too. I know I’ve bought some perfumes because I simply couldn’t resist their original wrapping.

The first perfume in a can I’ve seen was B.U., cheap, but with a very distinct fragrance. Produced by Greek company Sarantis, it came in a yellow metallic can which resembled a tall peanut can. When first opening it, you got to remove a metallic seal, something like tuna cans. 99 perfume was presented in the same type of can.

Then I got to smell Versace Blue Jeans for men. I still think it’s the best perfume for men. It also comes in a blue metallic can, with a “lid”; plus, the bottle design is also nice. Versace also has Red Jeans, for women, packed in a red can, and Baby Rose Jeans, for little girls.

212 Splash from Carolina Herrera is presented in a translucent plastic container, resembling a canned soft drink. 212 Splash comes in two bottles – so you can share it if you want, or if you don’t like your mom, sister or roommate using your perfume. The two bottles are tied by a piece of plastic.

C-Thru is another cheap perfume that comes in a cylindrical plastic “can”. The perfume bottle contains a few dozens of transparent glass beads. Also in a cylindrical plastic can, Lancome Connexion is not that cheap, but it smells great.
